I have a diabetic dog?

My dog was just hospitalized for 3 days with pancreatitis and is now a diabetic. The vet gave him chicken breat for 3 days so he would eat. Now that I have him home, he will not eat his dog food. He only wants chicken. I have tried everything from mixing dog food with chicken, chicken broth, chicken baby food. He will pick out the chicken and leave the rest is I use chicken and if I only use broth or baby food, he won't eat at all. I can't just leave the food down until he gets hungry enough to eat it because he is diabetic and needs insulin shots after a meal. Please help, I am at my wits end.
